Background
I began investigating vision relaxation and improvement in 1999. When I was not able to find a vision teacher here in Alberta, I decided to study to become a Natural Vision Teacher. This involved attending more than one Vision Teacher Training program.

The relaxation techniques and vision games that I teach in the workshops and individual sessions are based on the advancements made by Janet Goodrich and other Natural Vision pioneers on the work of W. H. Bates, providing you with effective tools for reducing visual stress and improving your vision. These tools have reduced my own myopia and virtually eliminated the headaches I used to experience from long hours spent reading and working at a computer.

You may have read a bit about natural vision or even tried it on your own for awhile before deciding to find a teacher. Relearning to use the eyes and brain to see with less effort is sometimes easier learned from someone who has been trained in the field and who has experienced improvement in their own vision.

Similar to improving one's health by eating sensibly and exercising regularly, natural vision is a process, not a quick fix. The stress reduction techniques are easy to learn and apply and are helpful for reducing stress. The vision games take time to master and need to be accompanied by the relaxation techiques to be effective.

Natural, relaxed vision training is an option for addressing vision concerns. So are prescription lenses and refractive surgery. The choice is yours. Please keep in mind that vision training is not a substitute for having the health of your eyes checked regularly by a medical professional. Utilize the services of a qualified optometrist or opthamologist who is responsive to your needs and to provide you with reduced prescriptions as you require them.
